An hour in the garden after work still counts

I got home at six, managed an hour outside, and by the time I was pruning hydrangeas I had my headtorch on. Not exactly glamorous, but it did the job and it was still a very good way to unwind after a busy day.

There is a lot happening at once now: dahlia tubers being potted up, seedlings taking over any available space, and spring bulbs throwing colour around while the rest of the garden still looks messy. I am trying to make peace with that combination, because this is what spring in my garden really looks like most years.
