Half term, jewel colours and one good October day

One dry October day in the middle of a very busy spell can feel like an absolute gift. Work has been intense and I had barely set foot in the garden for weeks, so finally having a bit of half-term time and some decent weather felt like a real reset.

I have also been thinking ahead again, this time about the jewel-coloured border and what I want to add for late spring and early summer next year. October always seems to hold both endings and plans in equal measure, which suits me quite well because I am rarely finished with one season before I start imagining the next.
