I will not properly relax until the bulbs are in

I know myself well enough to admit that I am not going to relax until the bulbs are properly planted. It sits at the back of my mind the whole time, especially when there are stacks of pots waiting and the weather keeps doing its own thing.

The upside is that there is still plenty to enjoy while I work through it. I was able to cut a big bunch from the garden in mid-November, which still feels faintly ridiculous and completely wonderful.

On the colder, brighter mornings I find myself taking more pictures of the garden because they are so useful later when I start planning. Photos help me remember not just what worked, but how it felt.

So yes, I am still thinking about bulbs, amaryllis and next spring more than is probably healthy, but I suspect many of you will understand that perfectly well.
