September seed sowing has begun

September always flips a switch in my head. As much as the dahlias are still dazzling away, I am already thinking ahead to next year and reaching for seed trays again.

This fortnight has been all about autumn sowing, especially snapdragons, and that slightly hopeful feeling of starting something new while the current season is still very much going.

I know seed sowing can feel intimidating if you are new to it, but this is one of those times of year when a few trays can make you feel wonderfully optimistic. It is such a small act of faith.

There are still flowers everywhere here, but mentally I am already half in spring, planning what might go where and convincing myself I am being restrained.
