October is properly under way now, which means bulbs, sweet peas, ranunculus and the yearly feeling that every surface is about to fill up with trays and pots.
I have been preparing for the bulb demonstration at Long Barn, which has been such a nice thing to work on. I always enjoy any excuse to talk about bulbs with people who are just as enthusiastic as I am.
There have also been the usual very ordinary but necessary jobs, like watering pots even when it feels ridiculous after all the rain. Autumn has a way of making you second-guess everything.
I also shared a little about gardening and mental health this week, because I genuinely do think time with plants helps. There is something so grounding about seed sowing and bulb planting when life feels noisy.
