Trying to catch up while summer keeps moving

July has been one of those months where life moves faster than the garden is comfortable with. There has been travel, work, end-of-school chaos and all the usual summer things, while the garden has just carried on growing regardless.

I am very glad the cosmos, dahlias and zinnias have started arriving in earnest because they make everything look more under control than it really is. I have also finally made the herb pot I had been meaning to do for ages, and I am still laughing at myself for growing flowers for cutting and then refusing to actually cut most of them.
