One minute picking sweet peas, the next at Hampton Court

This is one of those weeks that has held a bit of everything I love: sweet peas at home, summer borders looking fuller by the day and a trip to Hampton Court with flower friends.

I went to the show for the first time and it was such a joyful day out. Seeing beautiful planting is always inspiring, but being there with people who love flowers just as much makes it even better.

Back at home the sweet peas are doing so much better than they did last year, which is honestly a relief. They can be so sulky when the weather turns against them, so I am appreciating every stem.

June really ended on a high, and I feel as though July has started with that same generous, overflowing feeling in the garden.
